🐔 The Re:Farm program helps families in Westwood cultivate food in the community, by the community, for the community. Our urban farm located on the Re:Vision campus is the nucleus of the network of 150-200 family gardens that residents maintain with the help of a trained promotora. Every garden is unique to the family that plants it, but harvest is always incredible - in 2021, family gardens produced more than 65,000 pounds of organically grown produce!
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Depending on the weather and what the farm's needs are that day, you will likely be helping prepare the farm for the winter season. That may include mulching, weeding, harvesting, or general clean-up. It'll be a fun day of getting your hands dirty while helping the community!👕 Be sure to dress appropriately: sunscreen, proper shoes, long pants, long sleeves

👚 Help Shoppers at the Clothes to Kids Donation Center - Friday, 11/7 | 10AM-12PM
Register Here!At Clothes To Kids of Denver, we give free school clothes to students in-need or in-crisis. Our boutique stocks a wide selection of high quality, gently used clothing donated by the community. Students get to shop in a welcoming space where they can select the seasonal and stylish wardrobe pieces that meet their needs. This shopping experience is what sets CTKD apart.
When you arrive at CTKD:
Come into the Donation Center door - left of the barber shop. To check in, you will...
- Introduce yourself to a staff member and put on a name tag.
- Sign our volunteer logbook and waiver.
- Store any personal items in the lockers. Locks are not provided.Volunteer Roles:
Volunteers may serve in a few different ways. These are active volunteer roles - you will be moving boxes, bending into bins, lifting bags and standing for the duration of their volunteer shift. We do make accommodations as needed.Adult volunteers may work directly with the families we serve. These volunteers will help shoppers find the school clothes they need for their children and check them out when done shopping. This is a customer service position that requires a great deal of empathy, kindness and patience with our shoppers who often are in challenging circumstances and sometimes don't speak English.
Both adult and teen volunteers process incoming clothing and shoe donations by sorting, sizing, and hanging the items needed to restock the store.
- This position requires great attention to detail to make sure we are outfitting the students we serve with high quality clothing.
- This role is essential to keeping the store fully stocked which gives our shoppers the most variety to meet their needs. On any given day, volunteers may also:
- Greet clothing donors and assist unloading donations.
- Keep the store organized and tidy by straightening clothing racks, sorting hangers or taking out the recycling.
- "Rainbow" the racks.
- Help with other needs or special projects. We ask volunteers to be flexible and go with the flow. Every day is unique!
What to wear:
We suggest you wear casual clothes suitable for a work environment.
- Comfortable shoes are a good idea since volunteers will be on their feet the entire shift.
- Dressing in layers is helpful since the temperature varies widely depending on which part of the store you are in.
- This is an active volunteer role - you will be moving, bending, lifting - so be comfortable. With gratitude,
Eileen Robinson (she/her/hers)

Register Here! The South Pearl Farmers market volunteer opportunity is a seasonal partnership with Miller Farms and Rocky Mountain Fresh. We go to the market and "rescue" as much of the unsold produce that we can. Volunteers will be lifting crates of vegetables in and out of vehicles mostly. The food is transported to the warehouse of one of our community partner's The Growhaus to be distributed on Monday.
🛍️ Denver Food Rescue is somewhat unique in the food access world as we typically do direct distribution. This means we move donated food directly from donors to wherever it's needed. Due to the sheer quantity at this farmers market, and the fact that it happens on Sunday afternoons, this is one of the only donations we accept that requires overnight cold storage. It is also one of our only food pickups where the more hands that are available to help the better. This can be a very physically tiring shift when done by 1 or 2 people but with a larger group the strain is distributed and it's a great opportunity for team building and socializing.
🚙 Parking: please park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk to the lot to help.
We pick up food from 3 different locations: Miller Farms, Rocky Mountain Fresh, and Rebel Bread
- This Is a collaborative shift between DFR staff and as many volunteers are willing to help. The DFR van will be present and will haul the majority of the food. Volunteers with larger vehicles can haul whatever doesn’t fit in the van if they are able*.Volunteers 18+ must complete this waiver:
Volunteers under 18 are welcome with an adult, but must complete the Under 18 Waiver:*If you are able to drive produce to The GrowHaus, please park in the parking lot of 1550 S Pearl St. You will have to enter the alley that runs between Pearl and Washington from either the north or south.
