Founded by Cindy Abramson and Amy Becker, PROJECT OUR TOWN was born from a passion and belief in our collective responsibility as human beings.

The idea of PROJECT OUR TOWN initially began as an event. The response was so large and gained traction so quickly, the realization was obvious that it needed to evolve into an organization to truly maximize its impact.  So, in January 2019, our new organization was founded, a Governance Board was formed, paperwork was filed, and we hit the ground running. 

​We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to engage in this meaningful and fulfilling work. It is undoubtedly challenging and time-consuming, but the sense of awe we feel for all that is being accomplished never diminishes. Our journey is made even more extraordinary by the exceptional volunteers who have joined us. Their dedication, generosity, and passion continue to astound us each day. During the Weekend of Action in November, some of our volunteers take charge of leading large divisions of work. Others contribute on an occasional basis, but they all bring an abundance of talent, compassion, energy, and enthusiasm. With these exceptional individuals who possess big hearts and a strong work ethic, we consistently meet andsurpass our ambitious goals.

There is truly no greater feeling than the knowledge of having genuinely impacted the lives of others.
