Denver Children's Home restores hope & health to traumatized children & families through a comprehensive array of therapeutic, educational & community based services. They provide a comprehensive therapeutic and educational continuum of care for our region’s abused, neglected and traumatized children and their families with mental health issues. They serve 30 counties in Colorado and the entire state of Wyoming. Sanderson Apartments provides permanent, supportive apartment homes for chronically homeless people in our community. The Mental Health Center of Denver has successfully owned and operated residential homes and apartments for over 25 years, providing safe and affordable housing throughout the city. Permanent supportive housing allows their residents to live independently, while getting the treatment they need to get better and transform their lives. Most of the residents have been homeless for many years and may exhibit symptoms of mental illness, be intoxicated, etc. Volunteers will spend time with the residents making holiday cards for other people in the community: veterans, children and families in poverty, teens with behavioral and mental helath issues, etc. (Recipients will be chosen by the residents and volunteers.) There will be an additional group of volunteers that will be simultaneously preparing and serving a pre-Thanksgiving meal for the residents. Location: 1601 S. 136 SHILOH HOUSE - THE SANCTUARY - Prepare and serve lunch and facilitate crafts and/or games with residents (18+)


The Sanctuary is a multi-purpose center that ensures the safety of youth and families through combined juvenile assessment, crisis intervention, short term shelter, RCCF program, educational and treatment services for male and female youth ages 5-17. It has up to 28 male/female youth, 16 group care counselors, 4 on site supervisors that can help facilitate programming, and intakes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The program is designed to provide shelter to youth for up to two weeks while situational stabilization is sought after. If deemed appropriate youth can stay for an extended period based on their needs. The Colorado Pet Pantry is a pet food bank with 19 distribution locations. 116 MENTAL HEALTH CENTER OF DENVER - Distribute Crisis Cards


MCHD works to enable adults to live more fulfilling and productive lives, children to be more resilient, and families to be happier and healthier. Through multiple community sites, mental health providers in several Denver public schools, collaborations with community partnerships and home-based outreach, we provide treatment, prevention, outreach and crisis services to more than 60,000 children, families and adults annually. mchd.org

Between the Aurora House and the Denver House, they're able to keep 118 families close to their hospitalized children each night. The Family Resource Pavilion is a community partnership that promotes the well-being of young people and their families through coordinated access to a comprehensive network of support services. The facility is open 24 hours a day to youth and families. The Family Resource Pavilion is a welcoming place for young people and their families to go for help with a variety of life’s challenges including school and behavioral issues, family conflict, drug use, juvenile court involvement, and more. There is a team of experts at the Pavilion to learn about each family’s strengths and needs and matches them with the services that they need. They have nine partners all under one roof to provide the services these families need. The Family Resource Pavilion is a community partnership that promotes the well-being of young people and their families through coordinated access to a comprehensive network of support services. The facility is open 24 hours a day to youth and families. The Family Resource Pavilion is a welcoming place for young people and their families to go for help with a variety of life’s challenges including school and behavioral issues, family conflict, drug use, juvenile court involvement, and more. There is a team of experts at the Pavilion to learn about each family’s strengths and needs and then matches them with the services that they need. They have nine partners all under one roof to provide the services these families need. 103 COLORADO PET PANTRY - sort and organize pet food donations


The Colorado Pet Pantry is a pet food bank with 19 distribution locations. The Colorado pet pantry will temporarily feed Colorado pets, allowing families to increase their ability to care for pets with the goal of keeping them out of shelters and with their families. coloradopetpantry.org # of Volunteeers needed: 20 Time: Saturday, 11/10 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Restrictions: Kids must be with an adult. Must be able to carry up to 30 lbs. If volunteers can’t lift that much, they will be given other jobs.

101 A LITTLE HELP - House and yard maintenance helping seniors


A Little Help works to help seniors remain an integral part of their community, to live in the homes they have come to love, and to maintain their network of friends and neighbors they have developed over the years. alittlehelp.org # Volunteers Needed: 20 Time: Saturday 11/10, 8:00 a.m. Duration: 2-3 hours Restrictions: No kids on ladders This project includes raking, edging, weeding, and possibly some ground floor window cleaning. 208 MENTAL HEALTH CENTER OF DENVER - Distribute Crisis Cards


MCHD works to enable adults to live more fulfilling and productive lives, children to be more resilient, and families to be happier and healthier. Through multiple community sites, mental health providers in several Denver public schools, collaborations with community partnerships and home-based outreach, we provide treatment, prevention, outreach and crisis services to more than 60,000 children, families and adults annually. mchd.org
# of Volunteers needed: 8-10 Time: Sunday 11/11, 10:00 a.m. Duration: 2-3 hours Restrictions: none Volunteers will distribute 200 "Crisis Cards." These cards provide information about the Suicide Prevention Hotline and other mental health questions or immediate needs. Participants will meet at The Hub to pick up cards and discuss and determine locations. Volunteers will then distribute to those locations to place on cars, hand out, bulletin boards, etc. Location: Start at The Hub, 8827 Lone Tree Parkway, Lone Tree CO 80124

408 SPECIAL OLYMPICS - Bowl with kids and adults with intellectual disabilities (11:30 a.m.) (16+ or 8-15 with adult)


Special Olympics provides year-round sports training & athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children & adults with intellectual disabilities. specialolympics.org # of Volunteers needed: 12 Date: Saturday 11/17, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Restrictions: 16+ can volunteer. 8-15 yrs must have adult with them. <7 yrs old can be cheerleader but must have adult with them. 8-15 yr olds must have one adult for every 3 kids.8-15 yr olds need 3:1 ratio. Meaning one adult for every 3 kids. Volunteers will bowl with Special Olympics participants for the State Fall Classic Bowling Tournament. Location: AMF Belleview Lanes 4900 S.
